Well done, UTP!

Huge congratulations to the brilliant Urban Theatre Projects, who have won Best Independent Production at the Sydney Theatre Awards for The Fence.

Created for the Sydney Festival in 2010, The Fence explores themes of love, home, belonging and dispossession, playing out in a family home amongst five friends, four of whom were part of Australia's Stolen Generations.

UTP will be here in London as part of LIFT 2012, creating a site-specific piece exploring the lives of London’s working poor, and we're really looking forward to working with them. The brilliant Alicia and Michelle have already been spending time here at LIFT HQ for their intial R&D into what promises to be a really exciting project.
