This Saturday LIFT in collaboration with the Grundy Art Gallery brought Dan Jones' Music For Seven Ice Cream Vans to the people of Blackpool.

You might hear one van at first in the distance... and then another one and gradually this audio tapestry will emerge.

Having recently won an Ivor Novello and BAFTA Craft Award for his original score of Channel 4's Any Human Heart. Dan is also the co-creator of the Sky Orchestra which LIFT and the GLA commissioned this July to mark our 30th Birthday and herald the one-year-to-go point for the 2012 Olympics.
 

Co-commissioned by LIFT, Norwich & Norfolk Festival, Blackpool Council & Sydney Festival we were delighted to bring this beautiful and haunting project to the streets of Blackpool. A big thanks to the people at Grundy and Blackpool Council for making it happen.
