For the last few weeks we’ve had Alicia Talbot and Michelle Kotevski from Australian company Urban Theatre Projects (UTP) in residence here at LIFT.

UTP is well known for their raw and gritty site-based works made in discussion with non-artists. Whilst in London, Alicia and Michelle and LIFT Participation Producer Erica Campayne, have been hitting the streets across east London and meeting with a range of organisations and individuals as part of the research for a new work as part of LIFT 2012.

The work will explore the internationalism of London, the dignity, silence and optimism of London’s working poor.  Alicia and Michelle have been inspired very much by the Living Wage Campaign. You can learn more about that here.

Check out UTP’s great e-book here.

You can also follow them on facebook and twitter.
