The Second Day of LIFT-mas
I don't know about you, but we are getting quite excited about the festive season this year, here at LIFT HQ! Especially as in 2011, we hit the big 3-0. So we thought what better way to see in the holidays, than with our very own 12 days of Christmas?
On the Second day of LIFT-mas, my festival gave to me……
2 new board members
LIFT’s Board of Trustees welcomes 2 new members – Alisa Swidler and Karen Napier, joining the festival as we prepare for our 30th birthday in 2011.
Alisa has a background in philanthropy and is currently Co-Chair of the One Foundation. She also served on the Boards of Right to Play and Save the Children, focusing on child survival in rural Liberia. Currently, Alisa is an Ambassador for Centrepoint, on the UK Advisory Board of Jeffrey Sachs' Millennium Promise, and is on the Board of TLG Capital, a frontier market investment group.
Karen is currently Associate Dean, Advancement at London Business School, having spent 10 years as Director of Development at Southbank Centre. Prior to this, she was at the Hayward Gallery. A former dancer, she is also on the founding board of Hofesh Shechter Company and has a long-established relationship with the Greenbelt Festival, where she was chair from 2003 – 2009.
As we start the ball rolling for our forthcoming projects in both 2011 and 2012, this is a really exciting time for LIFT and we're thrilled to have them join us.
