Philip Keir

Media and Arts Specialist

Phillip Keir has worked for twenty years in media, specifically as Chief Executive, Publisher and Founder of NextMedia, a consumer magazine publishing company specialising in popular culture titles.

Prior to NextMedia, Phillip worked as a theatre director, specifically at the Sydney Theatre Company where he was associate director for four years. He had previously worked in Europe at Schauspiel Koeln and the Royal Court. Phillip’s first job in London was at the theatre at the ICA.

He is a board member of the Biennale of Sydney and Aerowaves – a European dance network and is a founding International Friends of documenta 13. Phillip established the Keir Foundation, grant-making foundation supporting new and emerging artists across art forms, though principally focused on the visual arts and dance. Philip is also actively involved in executive producing films in the UK and Australia
